Hello! My name is Grace Dixon, and my journey as an artist started as early as 8 years old when I became obsessed with Mickey Mouse and everything surrounding him. As a creator, I believe that visual storytelling is essential; art brings both the young and the young at heart, together.
I grew up with themed areas, from the Disney Parks to traveling across the country to various National Parks. Having the opportunity to expand my knowledge of differing cultures outside my hometown captured my heart, inspiring me to create happiness and artwork of my own to share with others.
Outside of art I've released original music on Spotify, performed with the SUNY Fredonia University Chorus, and performed in the cast of my high school musical theatre program. Further, I have advanced in multiple music competitions including the Niagara County Music Educator Association (NCMEA) and the New York State Music Association (NYSSMA).
Before college, I created multiple award-winning designs from apparel to logos which were used for major community events and appeared within my high school's new athletic complex. I have also participated and collaborated with professional artists in a 24-hour event to benefit non-profit organizations. With these experiences, I focused on adopting characteristics of time management and conceptual brainstorming, all while expanding my artistic creativity in multiple mediums, including painting, illustration, and character design. I then extended my studies to the State University of New York at Fredonia and earned a BFA in Animation/Illustration as well as a BA in Art History. For more information regarding my professional experience, refer to my enclosed resume on my home page.
