Hi! My name is Grace Dixon, and I am currently a junior at the State University of New York at Fredonia, working towards a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Animation/Illustration and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History. I aspire to design merchandise and fine art for the Disney Parks once I graduate in the spring of 2023. |
Before my college years, I have created multiple award winning designs from apparel to logos and also participated and collaborated with professional artists in a 24 hour non-profit event. In these experiences I focused on adopting characteristics of time management, conceptual brainstorming, all whilst expanding my artistic creativity in multiple mediums, including painting, illustration, and character design. Even beyond art, I have participated in multiple music festivals, NCMEA and NYSSMA, and was cast in school musical productions such as The Sound of Music and Beauty and the Beast. |
As a creator, I believe that visual storytelling is essential when telling a successful narrative and that art brings others, both young and old, together. I am a freelance illustrator who specializes in design work, 2D animation, scenery, and illustrations. Some other hobbies include singing, for I've previously participated in multiple Niagara County Music Educator Associations (NCMEA), New York State Music Associations (NYSSMA), along with musical theater, jazz choir, and wind ensemble. Additional hobbies are traveling-- so far (and still counting!) I've been to 48 states across the United States and 7 countries such as The Netherlands, France, and Italy.

While at Fredonia, I've had the amazing opportunity to participate in the Disney College Program spring of 2020 and networked with multiple Disney Fine Artists, some including: Greg McCullough, Karin Arruda, Paige O’Hara, and more. I asked these artists about their work ethic, preferred mediums, and what made them end up working for the Walt Disney Company. During my time as an Adventureland Merchandise Cast Member, I acquired the importance of teamwork, efficiency, and civility for myself and my fellow co-workers. The best part was that I even received a Cast Compliment while making magical moments for guests. This past fall of 2021, I recently took the responsibility of two Graphic Design positions on campus, one for the WNYF TV Station and the other for ENACTUS. In both roles, I have adapted to the pressure of quick turnaround times and bringing conceptual ideas to life when working with clients.
